My boss tested me today, but I don't know if it was intended.  He saw that I was scheduled to replace a PC and asked to go along so he could check the procedures and see what issues come up.  I was a little nervous because the procedures had changed and the person who I was supposed to do them with was out sick so I was flying solo on them, by the seat of my pants.  I needed information from her, but I found it on my own, got the equipment ready, and went with the boss to swap the PC.  There were issues that came up, but I handled them efficiently.  He was impressed that I was working from memory and not having to refer to the checklist, but of couse as soon as he said that, I needed to use the checklist to make sure I didn't miss anything  while he was watching.  When we were done, he said I'd done a very good job.  I suspect he may have had his doubts because I think someone has been telling him doubtful things about me, though my impression from my favorable review a few weeks ago is that he wasn't seeing the doubtful things borne out.
