Moon probe makes a splash.

You can forget about trying to support bases on the moon with the little water it had. Now you can support them with the abundance it has. NASA scientists have analyzed the results from last month's crash of the LCROSS probe on the moon and found that the debris from its impact crater, about 80 feet across, contained about 24 gallons of water. I estimate that to be about 1 percent, but I could be wrong.
