The Reverse Geocache Puzzle Box

Geocaching is a type of scavenger hunt where an object is hidden in a specific known location and  the hunter must find it, either with a GPS or a map.  Artist and engineer Mikal Hart has created a "reverse geocache" as a wedding present, where a location is hidden in the object.  The box contains a GPS unit and Arduino-based computer, and can only be opened at the hidden location.  All the user knows after unwrapping his gift is that it has button, a light, and a display screen, and he has to figure out what it is and what to do with it.  And no one he doesn't know will die when he pushes the button.
