Researchers in Stockholm and Boston have found that heart attack survivors who eat chocolate two or more times a week are three times less likely to die of heart disease than survivors who don't eat any chocolate. Eating less chocolate but more than none also reduces heart disease risk, but not as much as a semiweekly regimen. The researchers think the antioxidants in chocolate may reduce blood pressure and increase blood flow. *I* think that relaxing neurochemicals in chocolate, such as canniboids, may be a contributing factor. I also can't help but think that chocolate must be that beneficial for everyone, not just heart attack survivors.
