Dirty Laundry Looks

When I went to put my laundry in my floor's dryers, one dryer was occupied and I wished the user would get his laundry while I was there so I could dry both my loads at the same time instead of just one.  My wish was granted, but it was corrupted.  I stood out of his way so he could get his laundry, and he asked me if I had a problem with him.  I asked him what he meant and he said he didn't like the way I was looking at him.  All I was doing was standing there waiting to use the machine, but he insisted I was looking at him as if he shouldn't have been using that machine.  Despite my assurances to the contrary, he angrily got his laundry, bitched about my perceived attitude, and left.  Which makes me wonder if he actually was somehow not supposed to be using that machine and was proactively defensive.
