Coyoty eats balsamic vinegar on ice cream. is selling 250 ml. bottles of Cavedoni Botte Piccola Italian Balsamic Vinegar di Modena for $35, which at that price has got to be good vinegar.  According to the user comments, it is, and normally sells for over $75 elsewhere.  The commenters also say that one thing people have got to try is balsamic vinegar on ice cream.  I happened to have a less expensive bottle of balsamic vinegar di Modena, so I picked up a pint of Walgreens vanilla ice cream on the way home from work and tried it.  It... tasted like vinegar on ice cream.  Not terrible, but not the ambrosia it was made out to be.  Maybe my results with Cavedoni would be better, but I'm not going to spend that much money to find out.  Cavedoni is supposed to be a more syrupy, sweeter, richer grade of balsamic.
