1/2 cup flour.
1 tsp. baking powder.
Pinch of salt.
1 egg (optional; also adequate for two batches).
1/2 cup milk or water.
1 teaspoonish oil.
Optional: 1 tablespoonish any additional fillings or flavorings you might like, like tea (1 teaspoonish or teabag), jelly, peanut butter, blueberries, chocolate chips, etc.
Mix the dry ingredients first so that the baking powder doesn't foam up immediately when adding the liquids. Mix in the rest and cook according to your waffle iron's directions, usually three minutes. The result may look whiter than you expect because there's no food coloring.
I've found that most waffle or bread recipes that call for eggs don't really need them, so if you're watching your cholesterol, you can leave them out.
Don't you hate when you think you've invented a new term and Google shows you how common it is?
