Looks like about 6 feet in diameter. That puts the weight of that sphere at about 8 tons. I have no idea which type of glass he is using as common window glass has a strong green tinge at comparable thicknesses. I don't know, if this could even be done, considering the mechanical stresses involved while cooling down the glass block. And of course the surface is polished to (near-)optical quality.

Cool design? Yes. Feasable? Probably not. Outrageously expensive? YESSS.
