70 Percent of Ground Beef at Supermarkets Contains ‘Pink Slime’ - ABC News

It's reclaimed beef matter!  Soylent Pink is made from reclaimed beef matter!!!  (Reclaimed chicken matter is what chicken nuggets are made from, too.)  This is why your hamburgers don't taste as beefy as they did decades ago.  If you want unreclaimed meat in your hamburger, you'll have to grind your own or ask the supermarket to do it.

The message is good, the picture is wrong. What you're seeing there is mechanically separated chicken for use in nuggets and things like that. Pink slime usually looks more like ground beef, but with a Pepto-Bismol color:

All that said, I'm really going to start having my meat ground on the spot.

Indeed, my good friend, one of the two lead scientists in the flag waving department says the big issue is that this pink slime doesn't have any of the nutritional benefit that beef does. Its just blocks of pink frozen stuff added in during processing. I think the pepto beef is the ground beef with the slime added in. Some markets don't bother with pink slime, they just grind up the yesterday's cuts

Never gonna let up, are y'all.
It's an attempt by the beef industry to conserve edible substance rather than simply waste it. "Pink Slime" is a very clever name for someone looking to get a rise out of the couch-ridden masses.

Doesn't have ANY of the nutritional benefits? I doubt that somehow, if for no other reason than these so-called experts are the same people who tried to declare meat, eggs and whole milk to be poison while urging people to gorge on "complex" carbohydrates (which are just STARCH--- a slice of whole grain bread will ramp up your blood sugar higher and faster than a serving of raw table sugar!) and vegetable oils.
