Blue jack cheeseburgers on home-made buttermilk wheat rolls

Burgers and Blue Granite Jack Cheese from Trader Joe's.  The rolls were made adapting a one pound bread machine recipe in my new Cuisinart convection bread machine.

Blue Granite Jack Cheese must be the best cheese to use for burgers.  Amazing flavor.

Using one pound bread machine recipe for the rolls:

3/4 cups water
2 tbsp oil or butter
2 tsp sugar
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 cup white flour
1 cup wheat flour
2 tbsp buttermilk powder (original recipe called for dry milk)
1 tsp dry active yeast

Make first-rise dough according to machine's instructions.  Many machines have a dough setting.

Divide the dough into four balls, and flatten them into burger-sized patties.  Let them rise on a sprayed or floured baking sheet for 30 minutes. 

Preheat oven at 350 degrees F.  After dough has risen, bake for 15 minutes, then let cool before using on burgers.

A one pound recipe makes 4 rolls, 1 1/2 pound makes 6 rolls, and two pound makes 8 rolls.  Pretty much any bread recipe can be used to make rolls using the above steps.

I tried stenciling the letter C on each roll using poppy seeds, but they didn't stay on.  Maybe I can try brushing honey on them next time to hold the seeds.
