An 8-year-old boy in Taunton, MA was asked in class to draw something related to Christmas, so he drew Christ. Because He was on the Cross instead of in the manger, the teacher declared it a violent image and the school suspended him, requiring him to have psychiatric evaluation (at his parents' expense) before he could return. His parents are now trying to move him to a different school.

Taunton Gazette story.

Public school just keeps getting crazier ans crazier. I got suspended from highschool with mandatory psychiatric counseling at my parents expense for muttering under my breath and the teacher thought I was muttering about killing someone (this was less than a year after Columbine)

Why is there not more of an uproar against this kind of behavior? Why are these teachers not fired?

For the same reasons pedophile priests and criminal cops aren't seriously punished and remain in their jobs. They're part of their respective fraternities, and instead of removing embarrassments, the powers that be cover them up, often to hide their own guilt.
