A 6-year-old in Newark, Delaware had just joined the Cub Scouts and brought his new Cub Scout camping utensil to school to eat lunch with it.  In addition to a fork and spoon, it had a knife.  A school authoritarian declared it a weapon and the school board exercised its zero intelligence policy and expelled him.  Because, no joke, he could poke someone's eye out with it:  “There is no parent who wants to get a phone call where they hear that their child no longer has two good seeing eyes because there was a scuffle and someone pulled out a knife.”  They forget fingers can poke just as well, and they have knives attached called fingernails.  Maybe they'll try declawing kids next, or make them wear mittens.

These moron administrators and teachers might want to start including intent in their zero tolerance rulings. Otherwise I think we might want to impose a zero tolerance policy of our own on these parasitic lifers.

It wouldn't matter in the hands of idiots. The article tells of one case where a grandmother sent a cake to her granddaughter at school, and a knife to cut it. The teacher used the knife, distributed the cake, and then had the girl expelled for a year for having the knife.
