Angel wing begonias

A hybrid of Begonia aconitifolia and Begonia coccinea, with juicy edible flowers that taste sweet and tart. Should make an interesting salad.

In the PPG Aquarium at the Pittsburgh Zoo in Pittsburgh, PA.

I never knew that! My begonias rarely flower :-(

By the way, those are the female flowers.
The male flowers have only 2 large pedals like a clamshell,
and the stamen to emit pollen.
